I love, love, love DIY gifts for Mother’s Day — both giving and receiving them! There’s just something about a handmade treasure that is so meaningful. In fact, one of my most cherished keepsakes is a crayon-scribbled note from my son, nestled inside a little red clay pinch pot he crafted (a true masterpiece, in my humble opinion).

This year, I’m on a mission to wow my flower-obsessed mom with something extra special. So, where did I turn for inspiration? TikTok, of course! And let me tell you, 2025 is all about floral flair. From blooming letters to genius flower hacks, I found some seriously creative ways to say “Happy Mother’s Day!” and give mom her flowers.

Here are six of my favorite trending DIY ideas that are guaranteed to make Mom feel extra loved.

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 1: Bouquet bar

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 1: Bouquet bar

Shop : Mother's Day Radiant Tulips from 1-800-Flowers.com

Looking for a fun (and on trend!) way to celebrate Mom this Mother’s Day? With over 1.1 million TikTok views, a DIY “bouquet bar” offers the perfect opportunity to spend a memorable “craft-ernoon” together making beautiful floral arrangements. Simply gather a variety of fresh flower stems and set out a few vases, and let the creativity flow.

To make it even easier, here's a little hack: Order the stems online — anything from tulips to peonies — and you’ll have everything you need delivered right to your doorstep.

Once you assemble your bouquets, take the “bar” part to heart and pair your flowers with a matching drink, such as Roses and Rosé, Tulips and Tea, or Peonies and Prosecco. I love a theme!

And while you’re at it, why not make it a celebration? Invite your favorite women — your aunt, sister, or bestie — to join you and Mom, and enjoy the fun together.

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 2: Flower letters

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 2: Flower letters

Shop : Magnificent Roses® Preserved Beautiful MOM from 1-800-Flowers.com

Pink Petal Roses from 1-800-Flowers.com

Happy Gerbera Daisies, 12-24 Stems from 1-800-Flowers.com

Looking for a unique twist on the classic bouquet to celebrate Mom? Create flower letters! I’ve seen these all over TikTok, and I’m not surprised, as I’ve actually made these for a TV segment and they were a huge hit. (They’re also the inspiration for the Magnificent Roses Preserved Beautiful MOM gift.)

Not only are they easy to DIY, but they make a big impression. Plus, you can display them in so many ways: as a centerpiece, on a mantel or a bookshelf, or even hanging on the wall or your front door.

Start by picking up cardboard or metal letters from your local craft store. If you’re using fresh flowers, cut pieces of floral foam to fit the back of each letter. Be sure to soak the foam in water before placing it inside the letters. Then, trim the stems to about an inch long and begin inserting them into the foam. Just like that, you’ve got a gorgeous flower letter!

Most any flower works beautifully. Go for a single variety like roses, Gerbera daisies, or carnations (my fave super-affordable flower), or mix it up with assorted blooms from a bountiful bouquet.

For faux flowers, you can skip the foam and simply use hot glue to secure the stems.

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 3: Pressed flowers

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 3: Pressed flowers

A beautiful way to preserve the magic of a Mother’s Day bouquet and turn it into a lasting keepsake is with framed pressed flowers. This DIY craft is simple yet stunning. And talk about trending: #Pressedflowers has garnered more than 104 million TikTok views!

Start by selecting your favorite blooms and pressing them. You can do this quickly in the microwave (it only takes about a minute) or, for a more traditional method, by pressing them between the pages of a heavy book (which takes a couple of weeks).

Next, choose a frame that suits your style. Opt for a classic frame or go with a clear one, depending on the look you're aiming for. Arrange the pressed flowers on the back of the frame, then add the glass and top of the frame, and, voilà, your bouquet is now a work of art!

For new moms, here’s a heartwarming idea: Add a footprint of her little one.

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 4: Custom photo vase

Mother’s Day DIY gift No. 4: Custom photo vase

Want to make this Mother’s Day one of a kind? Craft a super-cute, personalized DIY photo vase for Mom to showcase her beautiful flowers. With approximately 10 million views (#DIYvase/s), this simple yet super-fun project is sure to provide an afternoon of laughs and creativity for the whole family.

All you need is some liquid adhesive, a small brush, colorful tissue paper, a sweet photo of Mom, and a pair of scissors. In no time, you’ll have a wonderfully unique vase that’s as special as Mom is.
And if DIY isn't your thing, a personalized vase is a sweet and easy way to give Mom her flowers and a keepsake, all in one gift.

Shop : Tranquil Medley from 1-800-Flowers.com

Peach Blossom Garden Rose Bouquet from 1-800-Flowers.com

Who doesn’t love a gorgeous flower crown? This trend is going strong, with over 35 million TikTok views. I’ve even seen them recently adorning celebrities like Lisa (star of “The White Lotus” and member of the K-pop group Blackpink), Florence Pugh, Eva Longoria, Elle Fanning, and more!

Start by covering your crafting space with kraft paper to keep things neat. Look for bouquets that have a variety of hearty flowers and greenery, whether monochromatic or multi-colored. Then, cut the stems off your flowers and group them together for your girls to choose from.

You can also prep wreath bases in advance, and then just add flowers. Before you know it, your little ones will look like they’re ready for Coachella!
